Introducing "Food for Thought" #41. The formula is simple: three short messages once a week to feed your mind.

Teamwork

Rescuing a company on the verge of bankruptcy

In 2012, Hubert Joly took up the challenge of saving Best Buy, a company on the verge of bankruptcy. To achieve this, he put people at the heart of his approach. In his first week as CEO, he visited one of the stores to ask employees 3 questions:

  1. What works?
  2. What's wrong?
  3. What do you need?

Unsurprisingly, employees had all the answers they needed to kick-start the company's transformation. This marked the beginning of a series of changes in the Best Buy culture.

Productivity

Being intentional

Being intentional means giving direction to your being and meaning to your actions. Hard work only produces results if you're intentional about what you're doing. Investing yourself fully in a task without intention is like treading water.

Have you identified your intentions today?
