Introducing "Food for Thought" #76. The formula is simple: three short messages once a week to feed your mind.
Motivation
Being present
The more we learn to be present, the more we learn to perform. Being present means being fully aware of what's going on:
- To our thoughts;
- To the emotions we experience;
- To the information transmitted to us by our feelings.
Ignoring these elements is a bit like ignoring the alarms on the instrument panel when flying an airplane.
Energy
The SSA technique for returning to a state of presence
When everything's speeding up, your day is getting hectic and your quality of presence is diminishing, it's essential to have ways of refocusing. Here's a technique inspired by our friend Sébastien Sasseville:
STOP: Take a break to reconnect with yourself.
SCAN: Become aware of your thoughts, emotions and feelings.
ADJUST: Adopt the new posture that will best serve the situation ahead.
Clarity
Living the moment
Embrace what is, rather than what should be. The present is all we really possess: "Tomorrow doesn't exist, you're always today, because when you get to tomorrow, it will still be today."
-Alexandre Poulin
