Introducing "Food for Thought" #44. The formula is simple: three short messages once a week to feed your mind.

Collaboration

Moving from clutter to team alignment

The 3 stages of a team project in disorder are:

  1. Chaos Launch without clear roles and objectives
  2. Control : Some leaders emerge by default
  3. Collaboration Consent to collaborate, but sometimes to the detriment of tensions and collateral victims

Replace steps 1 & 2 with an alignment step.

  1. Alignment :
    • Getting to know each other
    • Identify individual strengths and interests
    • Establishing a shared vision
    • Making a plan
    • Define success indicators
  2. Collaboration : Healthier collaboration

Leadership

Increased leadership responsibility in the alignment phase

"The role of the leader is not to motivate, but to create an environment and context conducive to collaboration."

Teamwork

A feeling of closeness, even from a distance

The lack of proximity between employees can be a real barrier to collaboration. How do you manage this with your team? As someone who works in Europe, here are our team rituals:

  1. Give each other regular updates in our communication channel
  2. Weekly one-to-one meetings to be accountable for our projects
  3. Celebrating success at our weekly team meetings
  4. Quarterly strategic team reflection (next one in December)
