Introducing "Food for Thought" #79. The formula is simple: three short messages once a week to feed your mind.
We spend hours working together, but do we really know each other beyond the small talk?
Vulnerability isn't a weakness, it's a strength that allows us to connect deeply with others. It's the magic ingredient of teams that really know each other, trust each other and achieve outstanding results together. Here are three powerful exercises to cultivate this vulnerability in your team.
⚠️ Warning: make sure you are accompanied by a professional specialized in team coaching if you feel uncomfortable.
Courage
Hot Seat: Discovering yourself
Each team member is given 8 minutes to present themselves from a more personal angle: their life story and outstanding experiences. Not CVs or achievements, just the human behind the role and function. Then offer 2 minutes for colleagues to ask questions to dig deeper.
Connection
Eyes in eyes
Form duos facing each other. One asks the same question repeatedly, while the other responds each time, delving deeper into his or her thoughts. The idea is to move beyond superficial answers to reveal more personal and meaningful truths. Let the exercise continue for 3 minutes.
Here are some sample questions from our TeamTalk game:
- What would you do if you had no fear?
- What's really important to you?

TeamTalk: Questions that connect
Use TeamTalk cards of your choice. Form duos: each person asks the question written on their card to their partner, who answers. Then the roles are reversed, and it's the second partner's turn to ask. Once the exchange is over, swap cards and find a new partner.
