Introducing "Food for Thought" #10. The formula is simple: three short messages once a week to feed your mind.
Teamwork
1 + 1 = 11
The strength of a team lies in having different types of profiles, introverted as well as extroverted, creative as well as analytical, tactical as well as strategic. By combining different geniuses in a team, the weaknesses of some are countered by the strengths of others, and together we can achieve exceptional results.
A team isn't just people sharing tasks. It's a group in which each individual can shine by using his or her strengths every day. The addition of strengths is the recipe for the most successful teams.
Productivity
Sense of urgency as soon as possible
Everyone feels a sense of urgency at the end of the road. Whether it's at the end of a race, or a few days before the delivery date of a project, or when you have to reach a sales quota at the end of a financial year. If you wait until the last moment to give it your all, it's often too late.
To rise above the fray and win, you need a sense of urgency early in the race. This means making gains as early as possible, not waiting to jump in, not betting on future performance. The sooner the sense of urgency arrives, the better the performance.
Leadership
It's not all about exchange
Helping others is one of the happiest things you can do. The feeling that you're helping someone up, that you're making a difference, that you're lifting them up, brings so much happiness that you don't need to receive anything in return. A leader gives without counting the cost, without expecting anything in return.
